Diane von Furstenberg

Diane von Furstenberg 's design career began with the desire to be independent and self-sufficient, and the recognition of the fashionable public came with the publication of the best models in «Vogue» and Diana's participations in the New York Fashion Week in 1973. The designer presented the main thing — a knitted dress with a smell. Her design was simple, but became an absolute masterpiece. Such delight at public wasn't since a birth of Chanel small black dress. These dresses decorated any figure, creating a silhouette of "sand-glass", and bright prints arrested a sight. Elegant dresses were equally pertinent also in the afternoon in a combination to flat sandals both a plastic beads, and in the evening with hairpins and magnificent jewelry. 

«Feel the woman, put on a dress!» — so advertizing sounded. And that there was a basic idea of her collection — feminity, beauty, confidence and convenience. This formula pleased to women of the whole world, and Diane von Furstenberg dresses were bought up with improbable speed, and for the first some their years were sold about 5 million. 

In 1975 Diane von Furstenberg licensed DVF mark under which let out set of things — from furniture to cosmetics and perfumery. By 30th years it had a huge fortune and a loud name. And on peak of this success the strong and confident woman stopped. Gradually Furstenberg sold a name on the license, departed from design of clothes, and in 1983 moved to Paris where was engaged in a publishing house. 

5 years passed and Diane von Furstenberg was forgotten both in America and in Europe. But after all there was nothing impossible. In 1990 Furstenberg returned to New York, there it published the series of the books devoted to interiors. And in 1992 she created the first collection for television sales «Silk Assets». This collection made furor was sold for two hours, having brought the designer more than $1 million. But nevertheless the best stimulus all to begin with the beginning there was a news that young girls search in the vintage shops and in flea markets of model of dresses with a smell which were popular in 1970s. 

On display in Paris in 1996 Diana met the president of New York department store "Saks", and in 1997 it already stood there and helped customers to be wrapped in the new version of dresses with a smell. New models became a bit shorter, collars — it is less, on change to a clap and viscose thin silk jersey has come. But invariable there was one: improbable feminity and indisputable convenience of DVF dresses.

Since 1999 and till the today's moment, Diane von Furstenberg is the constant participant of the New York Fashion Week. Besides, she is a working president of the Council of Designers of Clothes of America.
